The reason up to 50,000 visitors a day are drawn to the Taj Mahal, is because it is worth seeing! It is truly one of the greatest and most beautiful architectural achievements in the world. You could be lucky and go on a quiet day when there are only 10,000 tourists, but don’t be put off by the crowds the experience is worth it!
Take a tour with audio, which you can do at your own pace. There is some advantage in using a guide AND it will give you someone to take the photos – with you in them! A warning: beware of touts – they know where the easy-target tourists gather.

Agra, was established by the Mughal emperor Akbar in 1569 and was the capital of the Mughal Empire for the next 15 years. Now the capital of the state of Uttar Pradesh the building treasures are what attracts tourist from everywhere. In particular the most famous monument to love in the world, the splendiferous Taj Mahal.
As well there are the grand Fatehpur Sikri and Agra’s Red Fort.
A good thing to keep in mind in your planning is that on Fridays things are closed and kept strictly for Moslems
